You may have tried stretching, resting, yoga, massage, heat, ice, maybe even just pushing through it – but it doesn’t seem to be getting any better!

And when it comes to struggling with running, everybody we see wants to know the answers to these questions:

This approach is so frustrating and not only explains the opioid epidemic, but explains why so many people are still suffering from chronic pain and avoiding running instead of getting back to doing what they love to do.

Worse, many times they may hear incorrect advice, like running gives you arthritis and that pain is just “a normal part aging” as if it “has” to be that way, which either frustrates them or gets them down thinking their best days are behind them.

You may think that your only options are massage, yoga, foam rolling, stretching, exercises from youtube, or changing your exercise to a more gentle approach. Many of these feel good for a short amount of time only for the pain to return at a later point. That is because they are not getting to the root cause of the problem. This is kind of like duct taping a loose sole on your shoe. It may work a little bit, but it isn’t fixing the main problem.
