A Message From Dr. Lauren Stollman, Head Women's Health and Pelvic Floor PT at KinetikChain Denver
Is Pelvic Floor Pain Keeping You From Participating in Your Favorite Activities Or Affecting Intimacy With Your Partner?
Pelvic pain and pelvic floor pain can occur for a number of reasons but one of the most common causes is intimacy and penetration (occuring from sex or use of tampons or devices). Many women are suffering through the pain thinking that it will eventually get better, or maybe this is normal. It can be hard to talk about with your significant other, friends, and even your doctor. Many women go through a series of tests or medications to ease the side effects prior to seeking out pelvic floor therapy.
It is natural to think that this is your fault or to be scared or concerned. The truth is, vaginal pain is NOT normal, contrary to what people may tell you. It is not something you should have to suffer through or push to the side! It may be getting in the way of your relationships or you feeling “like yourself”. We hear you and understand you because we get this from other women just like you!
Pelvic pain is one of the most common things that is treated with pelvic floor therapy. You are not alone. I can tell you with confidence that the “wait and see” approach will not work and could potentially be causing you more harm. You might even be on the other end finding yourself trying all sorts of creams and medications that just circle you back to your doctor with another cream, medication, or idea that DOES NOT WORK!
So many women such as yourself suffer from pelvic pain on a daily basis and it is important that you get the correct diagnosis and care so you can return to sex and your favorite activities without pain.
Women are notorious for taking care of others while not taking care of themselves. For a change let someone else help take care of you. You deserve to be taken care of, and you deserve to live a life without pain.
When It Comes To Solving Something Serious Like Pelvic Pain…
You must choose the right provider for your health. If you don’t, you could end up wasting your time while the problem only gets harder and harder to fix
Getting the “least-invasive”, most natural treatment is VITAL to you stopping your pain and keeping it from ever coming back.
To do that, you have to not just treat the pain, but have a provider who is willing to figure out WHY these issues happened in the first place. That’s when you’ll get a PERMANENT solution to your problems.
At KinetikChain we’ve created a three step process to get rid of your pelvic and/or pelvic floor pain AND making sure it doesn’t come back again.
Step #1 - We Want to Listen to Your Story
Even most physical therapy clinics operate this way. They’re not attentive, they’re fast-paced, and your therapist doesn’t have time to actually touch where you hurt.
This is why our first step is to listen to your story.
After working with lots of people with pelvic pain, we know that no two people are alike. Each person has a different body, a different history, and different types of pain.
That is why our first step is to have an open conversation and time for you to tell your story. That way we get a deep understanding of what’s going on not just with your body, but also how it’s impacting your life.
Step #2 - Find Out WHY Your Symptoms Started
You could have been told that your only choice was to rest, avoidance, or even just living with it.
Sometimes, those things bring temporary relief, but they’re not addressing what CAUSED the problem in the first place.
Every person’s cause of pain is different. No one has the exact same problem caused by the exact same thing as another person.
Our goal at KinetikChain is to find that original cause of your pain, so not only does your pain and issues go away, they STAY AWAY!
We understand that you still might be skeptical or unsure if our type of physical therapy is right for you. That’s why we created a FREE Discovery session. (Yes! That means the first session is ON US!)
Our Free Discovery Visit are meant specifically for those people who are skeptical, unsure, or have even been let down in the past. During the Discovery Visit you’ll find out what’s wrong, how long it’s going to take to fix it, and give you peace of mind that your problem can be fixed naturally!
Step #3 - Get Rid Of The Pain & Keep It From Coming Back
This is when the big transformations occur. We develop a personalized plan that allows you to…
…Get back to exercising without fear of pain coming back
…Be able to (play with kids, get back to your workouts, be intimate with your spouse without pain)
…Get back to your lifestyle you love (yes even if you have had kids!)
….Be active and mobile and keep up with those full of energy kids without fear of having to pay for it later
Our best clients are those who are motivated and ready to win back and take control of their quality of life. (Even if they feel stuck right now!)
Want to know more about our availability and costs before making any commitment to coming in?
You don’t have to sacrifice the activities you love over problems that can be fixed.

About Dr. Lauren Stollman (Women's Health and Pelvic Floor Specialist)
Why Do You Work Here?
“KinetikChain fosters an environment of excellence in which I can take the time to understand each person’s story, finding out what matters most in my patient’s life, so that I can provide treatment options and information, and then work efficiently and effectively to get them back to what they love. Their goals are truly my goals, YOUR goals are truly my goals.
I’ve felt the disappointment of not being able to compete due to injuries or pushing through pain just to get through everyday activities and paying for it afterwards, frustrated and uncomfortable. More than that, I also understand the feeling of not knowing what to do or when to address aches and pains; I work to help people better understand their body and condition, healing processes, and movement patterns, so that they can make more informed decisions for their health and help them get back to what they need and love to do.”
In addition to treating sports and typical orthopedic conditions, I choose to specialize in providing care for women’s health and pelvic floor. It took me way too long before I went to seek pelvic floor physical therapy for myself, and I struggled to admit to myself that I should seek help, hoping that everything would just spontaneously get better with time. Once I got the care that I needed, I became inspired to create a new normal of talking about pelvic pain and function, as pelvic health is physical health and mental health. Throughout my physical therapy practice, I have heard so many times “I had to stop [insert favorite activity/sport here] after I had kids because of pelvic pain or leakage” and many women accept this for the rest of their lives, giving up their stress outlet, their enjoyment, their community. My mission is to empower women to challenge this idea, because there are so many things we can do through pelvic floor physical therapy to make real differences to get you back to what you love without fear. Additionally, I have worked with many women who have undergone breast surgeries, including full or partial mastectomies with or without reconstruction, who have experienced chronic significant changes in their function due to scar tissue and tightness, leading to pain or dysfunctions in other areas of the body, making it difficult to “ace” your golf game or even reach up to a high shelf. In learning about their experiences, I have discovered that post-surgical management in this area is significantly lacking, often due to lack of communication or expectations about the significant effects that these surgeries can have on one’s mobility. I work to educate as many people as I can about the importance of seeking care for this so that women, like you, do not have to accept this as a fact of life.
