Welcome, everyone to our first episode of the fit and healthy podcast. I’m your host, Dr. Jamie Beauvais. I bet you’re wondering, what is this podcast all about? This podcast will be all about health, fitness and wellness in and around Denver, Colorado. We will be highlighting people in these industries so that you can learn more about them. And so we can showcase what they can do for you. Not only will this include gym owners, race organizers, boutique fitness studios, wellness events and more. But we will do a deep dive into their background, what makes them special or different, and why you might be interested in seeking them out to help you further your fitness, health or wellness journey. The background of this podcast really started several years ago, when I was working in a very high volume physical therapy clinic, I was getting more and more frustrated at the level of care I was being forced to give just having to see that many patients in a confined timeframe. It was really soul crushing knowing that if I had five more minutes with people, I could get them better. But because I didn’t, they wouldn’t get better. So I quit my job. And I traveled the world for several months with my wife. It was an amazing time and really helped me kind of think about how I wanted to do things when I came back. To be honest, I didn’t know if I was done with rehab or not. I mean, I love the way that I could help people get back to the things they love to do. running, biking, skiing, playing with their kids, all of that was it’s amazing feeling. But I couldn’t see going back into that same system where it was just numbers based. So eventually, I figured out that I did want to come back into helping people. But I wanted to do it on my own terms. So I created a system where I could give people the care they needed. We focused on giving extended one on one care to active adults and became specialists at helping this crowd every way that we could. Now along the way, I’ve met some of the most amazing gym owners, coaches, Pilates instructors, CrossFit coaches, doctors and many others in health, fitness and wellness that have faced some of the same struggles that I have. Now, you may have never heard of these people before. But these are some of the most amazing people that you’ve never heard about. Because of the money it takes to market themselves. They tend to go under the radar despite being some of the very best people to help you. This podcast is meant to highlight those people. Another part of this podcast will be somewhat shorter podcasts on specific topics like why your hamstrings are not tight, despite you feeling like they are the five things you can do after 30 to prevent injury. The best warm ups before workout, and many more. Thanks for listening.
